Horses

Horses are held in reverence by most humans who ride them. It is told that the ancient hero that tamed horses was the first to challenge the Elfin tyrants. In present times, the heavily armoured knight is both the strongest warrior of the lands, and humanity's champion against dragons and trolls, elves and mages.

Approximately two thousand years of horsebreeding has brought forth immense mounts to carry knights into battle, cavalry horses, warhorses, destriers and chargers.

Chargers look like very large warhorses, with somewhat larger chests. Additionally, they have tufts of raggedy hair to the rear of their ankles, and may have horn-like nubs between their eyes. This is considered a sign of a superior breed.

Some heavy chargers can carry full plate barding, furniture, and a rider in heavy plate, all without being more than lightly encumbered. Generally, such a load will leave either kind of charger with medium encumbrance.
