- Equals among commoners greet each other with a handshake.
- Noble equals greet each other by lip-kissing lightly.
- A superior is greeted with a bow and touching the area of one's heart with one's right hand. -
A high superior is greeted by kneeling (one knee for noblemen, two for commoners) and kissing his hand.
- The proper martial salute is to cry "hail" and raise one's right arm forward and upwards with the palm open and turned downwards. If the greeter is of proximal status (soldier-sergant, sergant-lieutenant, lieutenant-captain, etc), the greeted responds with the same gesture. A superior will simply nod.
- The fica gesture (hand closed in a fist with the thumb caught between index and long finger) is used to ward of evil. To present someone with the fica gesture means that you suspect or accuse them of being in league with evil.
