Pray do remember that glass containers are hardly ever seen, drinking vessels are made from wood, clay or metal.

Other alchoholic beverages, not usually drunk by the pint, or even by the cup, include brandy (AR 7-8) and whiskey (AR 9-12).

Whiskey (strong liquor fermented and distilled from grain mash) is drunk mainly by commoners, and by the "gentry" of uncouth peoples such as Dors, Carrancochers and Bôths. It is particularily popular with sailors, soldiers and mercenaries, and is also known as "soldier's courage". Some former knight mercenaries also drink whiskey. Dorannia, Carrancoch and Bôth produce and export the best whiskey, while Cargan distilleries turn out the cheapest - which is also much more widely available.

Brandy (strong liquor distilled from wine or mead) has a better reputation than whiskey, and is drunk by the middle and upper classes. Avation, Pacar and Logesia are reckoned to produce the finest brandies.
