The importance of things sacral cannot be overstated. The world of Ymirea
is very much subject to the whims and wars of the deities, and this makes
the study and practicing of Religion a very useful and important line of work. The
deities are not to be ignored by anybody, virtuous or
viceful, in addition to the gods, the Cosmos is teeming with various kinds
of immortal beings. No one safely
neglects giving worship to the cultural
and natural spirits, either. Every
last thing has a spirit, a numen.
Of course, what is virtuous is subject to much discussion and a number of wars. Be as it may, one's individual virtue and standing with the deities is generally agreed to be quite important both for one's current well-being and one's afterlife.
