The numina (singular numen) are spirits of places, activities and objects, or even of tribes and nations.
Numina gain in power with the attention and respect they receive, and are empowered by contagion, from the people and events they become endowed with. Most numina are extremely weak, hardly a whisper of an existence. Magical objects have extremely strong numina, and they gain in power as they become legendary. Master craftsmen may create objects that have intrisinctly strong numina.
