Steropes are the high paraelemental spirits of the fiery air. They are the lords of the upper air and the custodians of the heavenly fire. Steropes are rarely seen by humans, as the clime of the lower air is inimical to them, and it is said that to a sterope, the touch of the earth is death.
Steropes appear as humanoid creatures, luminous with inner energy. Their complexion is blue-white, with amber or copper-coloured hair. Usually, they appear in the nude. The bodies of steropes are mallable, and at will or whim they strech and contract. A sterope is never still, twitching and flickering when stationary, and moving with swiftness unexceeded in the Material world.
It is said that steropes farm thunderclouds and harvest lightning. It is presumed that this involves lesser paraelementals of fiery air in some way.
Steropes are seen sometimes seen dressed in orichalcum and amber. Their orange rainment looks martial.
