Kobalae - Tall rogues

Elves (Sidhe) (Kobalus Albus)

Elves are very tall, a man streching his arm straight upwards will reach a little taller than the crown of an elf's head. They thin, frail-looking and extremely pale. They have small noses, bushy eyebrows and brightly coloured irises. Some say that their eyes are like those of cats. It is generally agreed that they have long, pointed ears and six-fingered hands. Elven hair is long, straight hair, most say that elven hair is the colour of gold, but others speak of black-haired elves All agree that they are beautiful in appearance. Some say that elves have long tails with a tuft of hair at the end..

Elves rarely walk among humans, and when they do, they often respond poorly to being talked to. It is said that they can blight crops and charm animals, steal children and curse men, fly through the air and disappear at will, but that they fear iron, and that wearing your clothes inside out protect you from their powers. Elves may give gifts, but what is given is never what it seems to be. Elven cloth and elfwine command fabulous prices.

Goblins (Kobalus Gobelinus)

These predatory, nocturnal humanoids are loathed by humans. Goblins are larger and stronger than men, but less numerous. Their skin is strangely coloured and their hair is black. Goblins have sharp teeth and nails. They are feral and filthy, lazy and cowardly. Often goblins are cancerous and deformed.

Other races encounter goblins mainly as raiders and thieves. Goblins are never farmers, sometimes herdsmen and always hunters, brigands and thieves. Goblins prefer stealing over hunting, and fleeing to fighting. Female goblins - bitches - are no more gentle than the males.

Goblins live in the wild places humanity has yet to conquer: forest, heath and marshland. The Trollwood of Terra Borealis and the inner plains of Terra Centralis reputedly teem with goblins.

Goblins eat human flesh with relish. Humans kill goblins at sight. Unless it is feastible to capture them and let them suffer for their evil ways. Goblins will only seek out a fight if they can attack by surprise, or if they clearly outnumber the enemy.

Some or all goblins can turn into wolves.
