The Get of Chaos

Dragons and Trolls

The infusion of Chaos into the world has led to the creation of a number of stable species tainted with Chaos. Collectively, they are characterized by great vitality, agression and destructive potential.

The get of chaos roam land, sea and the deeps of the earth; Winged dragons are masters of the skies as well.

Dragonkin

Great reptilian beasts, serpentine in form. Dragons have few rivals for size and ferocity. They are also held to be the most clever of animals.

While dragons are found in various forms, some marine, other terrestrial, there are some universal, characteristcs, such as vaguely equine heads, scaly skin, ridged spine and a tail ending in a lozenge-shape.

While born no greater than cats, dragonkin grow swiftly in size for their first decades of life, and soon only the strongest of men (knights and sorcerers, typically) and beasts (lions, tygers, martichorae, elephants, whales and kraken) can hope to defeat them. The eldest dragons are juggernauts of destruction, capable of laying waste to entire realms

As they wax in size, dragons seem to grow more crafty and intelligent, or possibly less impulsive. Fortunately, this increase in potency and cunning is tempered by a decrease in activity. The older the dragon the more it sleeps, and the greatest of dragonkin dream the dreams of centuries.

Trollkin

Beastial humanoids, trollkin have the shape of men but only in the rough, at heart they are beasts, and their crude shapes betray their natures. Trolls are incredibly strong and resilient, and they also heal faster than any other creature.

Semi-upright, trolls tend to have squat, muscular bodies covered in hairy hides terminating in a tufted tail. Large, clawed hands and feet, and small heads with huge mouths filled with sharp teeth, and gills behind the ears, are further marks of the troll. However trolls are phantasmogorically inconsistent in shape, a race of chimerae. The size, strength and even number of limbs and heads vary. Their size is equally fluid, from gnomic to ogrelike.

Trolls live only to kill, devour and breed. They are uncultured and seem devoid of the gift of speech. They fear fire, and use no devices more complex than logs and rocks.

No living creature is more nocturnal than the trolls - sunlight is fatal to them.
