The first thousand years of civilization in Terra Borealis and northern Terra Centralis were dominated by the rule of the ethnarcs. The ethnarcs, as their name implies, ruled nations. These nations were a conglamoration of chiefdoms, which in turn were a mesh of tribes, uniting clans, uniting families. The people of one ethnarchy were of one blood, one spirit, and one honour. Only rarely and grudgingly were brides and grooms exchanged by the ethnarchs.
These nations were the strongest along the Horse Coast.
The first ethnarch tamed the horse.
