Morda, the Grass Isle, the Blessed Realm, is a large island kingdom to the east of Dorannia. The land is moist and fertile, and the Mordings reap better grain harvest than the people of any other free kingdom.
The people of Morda are of predominantly Cimmerian stock, and their language is pure Cimmerian, with few Aegimean, Morath and Fraeging words. Some say the Mordings are surviving refugees from Avalon.
Despite, or perhaps because of the island being surrounded by the Ocean of Lost Souls' on all sides, the Mordings are not a naval people. Their small, round boats rarely range out of sight of their shores, and most of Morda's trade is done by foreigners.
The land of Morda is free of serpents, lindworms and dragons. The great orcae threaten Morda's ships like all others, but no dragon has sought to make its lair on the island in recorded history.
On the other hand, the land of Morda is home to elves, who live in certain regions of the land. The Mordings and the elves have divided the island between them, after a fashion, and co-exist. The other peoples think poorly of the Mordings for consorting with elfkind.
When the Primarch sought to invade Morda, his fleet was struck by a great storm, and it is told that the augurs divine that at the shore of the Ocean of Lost Souls the border of the empire was set by the gods, and no man should transgress against Terminus.
The people of Morda are a rather religious lot, and the very land trembles at times (once per month, on average), so that they might not forget their gods.
As the very land trembles before the gods, the people of Morda do wisely in not building any tall stone constructions, their buildings are mostly wooden, and they rarely soar above two stories. Morath forts and castles are low and wide.
