Ymirean navigation recognises ten orientations:
North, south, east and west, up and down. These six are absolute directions, no matter how far you travel north, you will never find yourself arbitrarily going south. Rather, you will probably find yourself falling into the maw of Boreas.
Additionally, it includes corewards (omphalic), rimwards (limbic), deosil (dextrorotatory) - circling the omphalos clockwise, and widdershins (sinistrorotatory) - circling it counter-clockwise.
The closest thing Ymirea has to a compass is various forms of omphalometers, instruments for seeking the core of the world.
