Carrancoch

Carrancoch's northern and western border is the Ocean of Lost Souls. To the south it borders to Dorania; this border has been much disputed over the ages. Carrancoch's eastern border stretches along three distinct areas: Syoshamral's mystic forest, the Savage Lands, and Naamland.

Most of Carrancoch is flat grassy plains or heath. There are forests, especially to the south (dedicious) and to the east (coniferous), and the south-eastern part is dominated by marshland, while the north-eastern part is hilly.

Carrancochers are known as the "hoseless people" as they do not wear trousers, but rather kilts, long reams of cloth worn as a combination of skirt and cloak. Though some of the Carrancochers have Naamlandic blood, and are blond, most have dark or dark red hair. Either sex wear their hair long, females braid it. Menfolk tend to have both beards and mustaches. All Carrancocher men know how to use weapons, and are obliged to serve in the King's army when needed. Internationally they are known as brave but wild and disorganized mercenaries, young valorous men being one of Carrancoch's greatest exports.

Carrancoch farmers grow enough grain (mostly barley) to be self-sufficient, but they are mainly herdsmen, keeping large flocks of cattle and sheep. The coast has many fishing villages.

The towns of Carrancoch are usually fortified with earthen ramparts and crude walls of wood and/or rough-hewn stone. They rarely have any artillery, except possibly some ballistiae. In the rest of the world, Carrancoch cities are infamous as smelly and dirty. They have gained this infamy from the rank smell of their leatherworking industries, as well as the smell of dung and blood from the corrals and butcheries. Many of the burghers are work as butchers, leatherworkers, spinners or weavers.

The ruler of the proud country of Carrancoch is King Andras, a man known for his great physical size and for his personal mettle. He has been vigilant in defending the country from eastern barbarians, northern raiders, and ambitious Dorannians
