The County of Tartor

The County of Tartor, is the second-northmost county in the Duchy of Corguin, streching along and into the westernmost spurs of the Tibellu hills. Its southern border is the Alaron river.

The county is cirka 4700 square miles in area, and has approximately 330 000 inhabitants.

The increased tension between the duchies, has led to an amassing of troops in Tartor, particularly along the Goziet river, which forms a natural line of defense between Tartor and Gronne-Base, and thus also between Corguin and Cobelle.

The Count also holds the castle of Gué-Haute, which guards the inland road to the Gronne valley, and thus the way to his northmost fief, the Barony of Condy.

The Barony of Condy sits astride the Gronne river, and borders on three other counties, Gronne-Haute, Gronne-Base and Sontelle. It is a rich barony, by agriculture and the river trade, but in the current war extremely hard for the Count to defend.

Tartor is, like many other counties, plagued by lawless bands, brigands. The upper valley of the Goziet is particularly lawless, but the Ducal troops, though supposedly in Tartor to uphold the law, have done little to curb the brigands' ravages.

Count Leodorian of Tartor, known as "the Smiling", is a rather inscrutable individual. Quiet, dignified and sanguine, Count Leodorian supports his liege the Archduke fully in public matters, yet many suspect him of having a hidden agenda.
