The County of Sontelle

Back to Avation

Most of Sontelle is loamy farmland, situated in a valley running from east-by-northeast to west-by-southwest. There are some small patches of forest in the higher areas. To the southeast lie tall foothils, a northernly outrunner of the Tibellu hills. No useful ore has been found here.

The excellent farmland of the valley floor is dotted with small villages, who also provide a customer base for three townships along the river, that peddle local manefacture as well as more exotic goods brought up from Mault..

In the southwestern hills lie the only proper oak woods in the county, the Bois-Dolmens. The paths to the Gronne counties pass under their shadows, and travellers are warned that the fay people will pixie-lead the unwary who pass near this wood.

Insulated from both pirates and goblins, the County of Sontelle has known peace for decades, but has recently come under a plague of brigands, operating out of the east of the county.

The County of Sontelle is ruled by the Widow-Countess. She has four adult sons, whom are famous for their loyalty and devotion to her and to one another.
