The Ramoroses family, originally of Elaran, were made lieges of Gronne-Base for supporting the royal house against a Cobellian pretender. Since then, they have been wise in their alliances and policies, and have grown steadily in power.
The family is rich, and supports the fourth-greatest standing army in Avation, and the third most powerful navy, by popular reckoning. With the waning of the power of Duke Theseon of Cobelle, and the disappearance and subsequent death of the King, the Ramoroses have grown almost autonomous.
The family is headed by the elderly Comte George-Darmant de Gronne-Base.
His life-long spouse, Comtesse Aelis is in significantly better shape than her husband, and half a decade younger. She is a daughter of the Comte of Sandoise, and his sole surviving child - though he has grandchildren enough to make any Ramoroses claim on Sandoise tenuous and remote. Comtesse Aelis is tall and gaunt, with a long face reminiscent of that of a horse.
Comtet Baltazar George de Ramoroses (late 30s) is six feet tall and broad-shouldered. He has greying dark brown hair and dark eyes. He wears his hair long and a full, cropped beard. The Comtet is the heir-apparent to the Ramorose holdings. The Comtet Balthazar is known for his fiery temper and sudden outbursts, and this is presumed to be the reason why the Comte gave command of the Ramorose army to an outsider in name and gain. The Comtet has command of the large contingent of Ramoroses's horse. The Comtet is less well-liked than his young brother Ovide Darmant, and this does little for his temper, though he gets along well with him, as does everybody else.
Bishop Rhepicien of Gronne-Haute, second son of Ramoroses, took over for his uncle as a Bishop, and is one of the youngest Bishops ever. He is currently closely watched by Prince Farnol's men, but theoretically at liberty.
Comtesse Oriabel de Drecuste (mid-30s) was married to Drecuste at age sixteen, as his third wife, and is Countess of Drecuste and mother of its heir.
Comtet Ovide Darmant "The Thornless Rose" de Ramoroses is counted a flower of knighthood - not because is puissance is very remarkable, but because he stands out in his observation of the knightly virtues; A man with many friends and few enemies, well liked by commoners and nobility alike. The Comtet is tall, thin, ever smiling, and in constant motion. He takes to his mother's looks, with sandy hair and grey eyes, and large teeth. He wears white harness with red roses.
