The Drecuste Family

The Drecuste family is old, and of mixed Cargan and Avatine blood, though the Cargan blood is scarcely notable anymore, save in a tendency towards aquilline noses.

The family has never been among the great houses, no matter how often they may reiterate their royal title as "Sentinels of the Ocean". On the other hand, they have never fallen from grace, either.

Comte Guinemant-Turpin de Drecuste (50ish): Comte Guinemant-Turpin's widow's peak has been enhanced by a receeding hairline, but has kept most of his famous wild mane (eaching to his waist), though it has turned grey. has a fair pauch. In his youth, Guinemant-Turpin fought the Dorannians for his King, and is renowned for having escaped captivity by first using his own hair to strangle a guard, then making good his excape through a heavily fortified keep. He is said to be as honest as he is bloody-minded. The Count's marriage to Oriabel of Ramoroses cemented his relationship with the Count of Gronne-Base, and he is a steadfast supporter of the Ramoroses family and their ambitions in Cobelle. The Count's first wife died in childbirth, the second he proclaimed as barren and sent to a nunnery...

Comtesse Oriabel de Drecuste (30s, neé Ramoroses) She was married to Drecuste at age sixteen, as his third wife, and was the first wife to give him a male child and heir.

The Nine Bastardborn: The Count has taken under his wings all the bastards he has fathered on whores and commoners, and squired them off to his vassals, all save "The Fishwife", his daughter out of wedlock whom is a shieldmaiden, and whom he trained himself. Together they form his personal guard.
