Duke Tauron refused the Regent's summons to court at Beltane, 6589, and his resistance to the Regent's rule thus became outright rebellion.
All his days, the Archduke has been known as a serious, brooding character - the shadow of his more jovial brother, the late King Farnol IV. He returned from his years as a mercenary with a fiery faith in the old Cargan ways and the preeminence of the god Terminus.
The Archduke inspires awe in enemies and allies. He is a brilliant public speaker, a great leader, and beloved by his soldiers. He is, however, stark and unrefined, prefering barracks to ballrooms, and doing little to charm his fellow nobles. Duke Tauron is known as The Boar, both among his enemies and his grognards.
The Archduke is of average height for a nobleman, and immensely powerfully built, with a torso like an ale barrel. He is relatively slim for peer of his age. The Archduke has the universal pug-nose of the royal family. He is balding, what hair he remains he has gathered in a short, thin queue. He has a neatly trimmed beard. His skin is weathered and scarred, his complexion is ashen. He is unusually slim for a nobleman his age. His most memorable feature, however, is his intense, dark eyes, deep-set and shaded.
