To the north of Naras lies the North Fens. The fens are a sanctuary for waterbirds, and for less savoury things. Trolls and goblins sometimes hide out on the "islands" in the fens.
Peat is cut from the fens, and sold in Naras as fuel for fireplaces and forges.
