Chateau Garde-des-Dragons

Back to Gronne-Haute

The Montcuivre ancestral castle is the Castle Garde-des-Dragons, a looming citadel at the mouth of the Sidrenne valley.

Overlooking the river Sidrennelle and the Copper Road, the castle controls the access to the valley, and thereby the mines. The citadel sits at the edge of a steep cliff, and is a large round tower flanked by two smaller towers. The castle has an upper courtyard at the ridge of the cliff, and a lower courtyard at its foot. There are visible caves in the cliffside. The ballistiae of the castle has felled dragons more than once, and numreous cannons have been added to its armaments in recent years.
