To the north, the County of Gronne-Haute borders on the Great Forest. The forest areas adjacent to Gronne-Haute lie in hilly, broken country. The forest is mostly oak and aesc. Hazel bushes and chestnut trees are abundant. The forest is rich in game, with elk, deer, aurochs and boar. Major predators are brown bears, wolves and lindwyrms. It is suspected that hundreds, perhaps even thousands of goblins lurk in these forest areas, living in hidden villages.
