Young children are often frightened with tales of the cannibalistic crone living in the west of Champs-Bluets, while most adults know that there is no such creature there, but rather a largish, misty depression, with a porous ground whence comes warm, noxious vapour. The Cauldron of the Witch has been the nesting place of virtually every dragon to plague the area around Trecore for as long as anybody can remember, while men and other creatures are quite uncomfortable in the place, it is curiously attractive to dragons. Nobody goes here, except for the occational wild-eyed sorcerer. Such sorcerers sometimes fail to return.
