Valle-des-Roses is a viscounty of Gronne-Base. It is an agrarian area, one of the most fertile areas of Avation. Wheat is grown in the fertile and temperate river valley, while a multitude of vineyards and truffle orchards are found on the well-drained slopes east of the Hills of Holmarene
Valle-des-Roses is densely populated, and the many farmers support a network of small market towns. Two sizable urbs are found in the viscounty, the town of Toubel, with a great bridge spanning the Gronne, and the inland township of Belasour.
The clergy have signifcant holdings in Valle-des-Roses, the main holdings of the Bishop of Gronne-Base is here, and two notable abbeys are also found in the valley.
The Viscount is the third in power in the baillage, after the count and his heir. While always outdone in opulence by their western neighbours, the Viscounts of Valle-des-Roses have striven to be more chivalrous than their suzerains. While the tournaments sponsored by the Ramoroseans may be more grand, the Valle-des-roses's tournaments have frequently been seen as having more glamour.
In past times, the Valle-des-Roses claimed the titles of counts, but lost it to the Ramoroseans. Their strife was not always limited to sponsoring tournaments...
