Duchy of Lambure

This Duchy in the northeastern quarter of Avation, bordered by the Great Forest to the east, the Elfin Hills to the north, and the bay of Baroine to the west. It has the shortest coastline of all of Avation, and the coldest winters.

Lambure is good grain country, less subject to drought than the domains farther south, and more shielded from storms than Cobelle. Also, the land has traditionally produced much charcoal, lumber and pork from the Great Forest and its lesser drabants.

Two great rivers flow through Lambure, the Foyn and the Emmale. The two river valleys are extensively cultivated and yield excellent crops of fruit, grain and legumes. The upper reaches of the Emmale are also known for yielding some of the best truffles in the known world.

The three most notable cities of Lambure also sit on these waterways: Vosne at the estuary of the Foyn, Demel and Camons on the Emmale.

Vosne is a busy port city, with a rather seedy reputation.

Demel is the ducal city of the house of Lambure. Its grain bourse is well known.

Camons is known as an Apollonic cult centre, with a notable Gnostic library.

The Duchy of Lambure is the least of the three duchies, approximately 37000 square miles in size, with 3.5 million souls.
