The baillage of Drecuste sits on the westmost tip of Avation. The coast is windswept and salt-blasted, but further inland there is some decent farmland. The baillage has no major rivers, but is generally well watered by rain. The farmers here grow mainly barley and oats, as well as legumes and hemp. A large portion of Drecuste's inhabitants live along the coast and live entirely or partially of fishing. Whaling expeditions are launched from its towns.
Drecuste's landscape is also known for the Intermittent Plains, tidal flats that appear and disappear with wind and tides.
There are twin lighthouses in Drecuste, at L'Ultocce and at Posudé. The one at Posudé was raised by Cargans, while the one at L'Ultocce, used and modified by the Cargans, has far older foundations.
The ancestral stronghold of Drecuste is at L'Ultocce, girdling the tall pharos, in its turn surrounded by the burgh of L'Ultocce. The burgh and castle are both very old, but all that remains of pre-Cargan architecture is the pharos. The Cargans built extensively here, and their marble Temple of Mother, Father and Son, hallowed to Amphitrite, Oceanus and Terminus is still quite impressive
L'Ultocce is a fishing town, and a waypoint between Mault and Dephille, apart from the lighthouse and the county court, it has few attractions, being a sleepy little town. The one time the settlement comes to life is in summer, during the Neptunalia festival.
