Duchy of Corguin

This Duchy spans approximately 50 000 square miles, and has four million inhabitants. The Duchy is divided into 11 baillages

In the north lie the Tibellu highlands, vast tracts of grass and heather, with small forests here and there. Sheep are grazed here in the summer, but the hills are almost devoid of human settlement. The sheep-flocks are well watched and guarded, for goblins, outlaws, wolves and dragons all crave a bit of mutton. It is said that in the inner regions, goblins herd their own flocks of goats and sheep, but it is hard for any sane human to imagine a goblin working for his living.

Only to the north, are a few valleys where the Tibellu are not desolate, but rather densely populated. Here are the rich copper mines of the Gronne-Haute county, and thousands toil in their deeps.

The south of Corguin, the counties of Contré-Sûd and Terrumides are exceedingly marshy, and only with improved farming methods have they come under the plow. However, these countries were hit worse than any other by the plague, and have later had the worst of the pirate incursions and whole tracts have been depopulated.

The lands of Corguin have fallen in recent years; In the past, the Corguine merchantmen were masters of the seas, ranging 2000 miles and more in their search of wealth. Now, they find themselves underbid by the Senines. The domestic trade remains their exclusive province, as none but a native can find his way through the shifting maze of reefs and sandbanks of the Sea of Deccai. It is further said that some locals have taken to plundering, and even provoking, shipwrecks, but the Arch-Duke and his Bloodhounds have not given much heed to these rumours.
